I said I wouldnt do another having done our first a few weeks ago
Too much faffing However our times today were lovely and spaced out and it was so much more relaxed,I really enjoyed it
Being allowed a caller for the dressage helped too
Dressage went ok, 5's and 6's, 53.63% so not the best but I was really pleased as although still not great it was miles better than our other attempts have been so far, not least the same test we did at our local RC on Fri where were were jumping puddles all the way round
So very pleased and came 6th.
XC phase is through woods and tracks and we had a ball He was a star and I came home grinning from ear to ear Feel sorry for the fence judge 2 from the end where we did a bit of a handbrake turn (my fault) and somehow he must have overreached or something, plus the going was deep and he ripped one of his newly shod shoes off and sent it flying through the air! He was only shod 3 days ago Rosie kindly retrieved the offending shoe but it is very twisted. So lovely clear round,rather under the time, but we came 2nd

Onto SJ and didnt have time to change back into jacket but venue is relaxed and were ok about it. Should also add being on a surface he was fine minus the shoe thankfully. He was lovely and forward, no spooking Backed off the first part of the double and somehow we demolished it but honest lad kept going over the 2nd part and just tipped the skinny bringing it down too. So no place in SJ.
Not sure where we finished overall as needed to get home but were lying 4th when we left, still a few to come in though. Had such a good time today ably assisted by my lovely groom Also, it was only on the way home I realised I hadnt thought about him napping all day, and he didnt even give an inkling of it
