Another lorry query

Our lorry (ford cargo) is due mot.It has been a reliable lorry but think its come to end of its life with us(is quite rusty which ford cargos are prone to I believe esp in scotland as salt on the roads).Anyways we were thinking it would be cheaper better option to transfer body to newer chassis and respray and tart up inside a bit.
Has anyone any rough ideas of costs of chassis(?sp) etc just to get an idea to go by,know it will be different from area to area.Thanks in advance.

You can get a good used 7.5 ton Chassis/Cab for £7,000 - £10,000. Get the chassis/cab mehanically sorted out before you put the body on and get the chassis painted to prevent it rusting up. While you have the container off it might be worthwhile putting a new floor and ramp on it.

Thanks for tips.Good idea about painting chassis.Will tell OH as he deals mainly with this.I'm happy as long as it goes from A to B safely!
