i have just noticed that feedback has already been sent as excellent ebay purchaser to me, my next question is can they change that once it has been sent

I dont think they can. Once feedback is left thats it. But they can respond to yours!! But it shouldnt register as a neg feedback score against you. Ha! Ha!

thats good, i dont really want to leave neg feedback but if i do not their score will look like they are good and there have been lots unhappy peopl by the sounds of it

Once you have left or been left feedback it can't be changed. But you can respond to it. Saying "buyers didn't answer emails" etc etc. But it will count as negative is they have left a bad report and you can't change that.
