Feeling very happy and full of good cheer this evening.
You all know how it is with a new horse - all the hurdles you have to cross with them to gain confidence in them and them in you. First ride, first hack, first show etc.
Well this evening, we went for our first canter on the stubble. Now bearing in mind he is an ex-eventer with a bit of speed on him I was, to say the least, cautious - went with 2 sensible friends who could easily control their horses.
Well - all I can say is he was perfect. Set off and stayed in the pace I asked of him (minor leap sideways at a very scarey lump of earth in the middle), and pulled up perfectly at the end.
How I love this horse!!! He may really turn out to be my horse of a lifetime!!
