Thought I'd have a go at a small report about my day at Milton Keynes BE yesterday!
Entered the Intro, due a lack of runs this year, to get us going and fired up for the autumn PN's.
Ginger beast was a dude!
Quite fruity in the dressage warm up and was slightly inattentive in the test, was particularly scared of the bright pink flowers...everytime we went pass them
managed to hold it together and scored 33.7, which is pretty normal for him and the judge didn't seem to be too generous with her marks!
SJ was excellent, its been my weak spot for a while now but he was a demon yesterday, for once he was taking me into the fences and not backing off and putting in half strides b4 the jump, I don't think we 'missed' on any of the jumps, so a very pleasing clear round
Then on to the best bit!! Ginger beast got very excited at the start box (I think he's missed his eventing!), shot out on a mission over first three then down the hill with very little in the way of brakes!! A big 'WHOA' from me eventually got him back for the ABC combination at the bottom, then off again!! We finished well within the time and in one piece!!
After waiting 2.5hrs for the results (MK seem to be a bit weak in this dept) I found out we'd come 3rd so was absolutely over the moon and highly excited
Lovely to meet Silly Mare and put a face to the name!
Winkburn PN in a couple of weeks so I think its all systems go now for some PN
