another move or not? driving me mad!!

hi everyone, just a little background i moved my boy to a new yard as old one had no hacking to a yard that has lovely hacking a year ago i love my yard and my boy is happy but theres only me y/o and another livery and they hardly ever ride. ive been offered a new place but its about a 20 min drive whereas my current yard is only 5 mins away.

current yard has lovely secure fields stables and lots of hacking and only £18 a week. new yard has lovely fields stables and is also £18 a week but has loads of people (most of them are already friends) to ride with. also miles of off road hacking. at my current yard my horse HAS to be in at night all year so means going twice a day and is costing me about the same in petrol as it would if i went to new yard as they have 24 hour turnout. so wouldnt have to go everyday (friends are there everyday and have said they will help out with feed/rugs etc so dont have to go everyday).

my current y/o is lovely doesnt interfere just leaves us to it. and if i left i wouldnt be able to come back as she already said if one of us left she wouldnt have another livery. so im just really worried if i do move that i may live to regret it and if i dont move ill still regret not trying.

i feel stupid but its really getting me down at the minute im only riding once a week whereas i used to ride everyday at old yard due to aways having people to ride with and im just not enjoying riding on my own all the time. at new place they are great they just leave you to it and if you want to ride on your own you can or theres always someone to ride with if i wanted.

seeing it all written down is making me want to move but i just DONT know!!

The only drawback I can see to the new yard is you not going every day.
If you could factor in the cost of going to new yard at least once every day, I would say move.
 
I can see where you are coming from. I am in a similar position in that I love my yard but there is only me that rides. There are 2 other liveries who have a plod around the school for 10 mins, one is always making excuses not to hack and the other has no interest in hacking. I can hack with friends from another yard but its a 3 mile round trip to meet them and they do let me down quite a bit. I dont mind hacking alone but it does get a bit boring and I dont like doing faster work on my own just in case.

I LOVE my yard and the YO is amazing, but I do always wish there were more people to hack with , but the grass isnt always greener on the other side. I know that isnt helpful, but with winter coming id be inclined to stay put where you are and reconsider come spring.

What ever you decide will be the right decision for you at the time xx
 
thank yu for your replies. i can go everyday but wouldnt need to a my friends will help (some were at my old yard and helped me when i was there so i know they wouldnt let me down if i did move. its just so hard to know what to do for the best :(
 
it sounds like you want to move.
To me though a nice quilt yard would be best.
I mostly ride in the arena and even hack alone mostly. But it you are more or a social rider and can have reliable help then i think you would be happier going to new yard.
