Another numpty question from me - this time about bones!

....I bet you all can so tell I'm a first time dog owner!!!

I got Stevie a bone from the butcher last week, how long is it good for? It had some fat still attached on the outside and the inside is marrowbone but will it go off?

Depending on how accessible the marrow is he will probably strip it all out before it goes off. But to give a non technical answer, I take bones off mine when they get too smelly. Sorry, not much help but the time scale depends on things like the weather, how much meat left on them etc.

Yes it will go off and you will know when it does! lol
I put mine in the freezer when they have finished chewing it and give it back frozen the next time, this way it takes them longer to get it out and keeps them occupied for longer especially on new pups which need distractions whilst Im out.

Brill, thanks guys. It does smell but I think that's its boney smell rather than being off!! He still loves it and it was a bargain £1!
