I know I'm not very active anymore and I'm not sure how many people still here will remember Jack but he was definitely at the doggy meet up a few (ok quite a few) years ago.

He let me know earlier this week that he had had enough the his kidney disease was too much to fight any longer. We had already planned one last trip to his favourite beach which we went to yesterday. He perked up and enjoyed the day but it was quite clear he didn't want to go on anymore and I said goodbye this morning. I'd said since he was diagnosed that when he showed any signs of suffering or having had enough I would let him go and that was this week.

He's been my best mate and stubby legged soulmate for 13 years, we went through A-levels, uni, PAT work, breaking my back, moving up north and moving home and several foster dogs but he did it all with a smile on his face and making sure his mum was ok. I've got a big hole in my heart and I'm a bit numb and at a loss at the moment but I know in time the happy memories will be what remains.

Sleep tight old man.

I'm so sorry Annette, I remember your posts about him, they always made me smile as I imagined him as a single minded, stubborn but sweet old gent.

So sorry, though what a stunning little chap. He sounds like he ruled the roost and had a wonderful life. Such a 'knowing' look.

RIP lil fella

I was a Jack fan..I truely was..my first dog was a rescue corgi,my dad brought him home.He had been living in an outdoor toilet, fed on bread scraps ,was bright yellow in colour and just a year old.
We fed him meat and he became a mahogany colour...every time I looked at your pics I thought back fifty years and saw my boy...
We loved your jack pics and hope you guys are ok..it's hard to lose such a character.

i remember your posts and loved his character although i never met him, just reading your posts showed that he was special....lovely for him to have his last beach trip and sounds like you did the right thing for him....HUGS......

I'm so sorry. I've always loved looking at his pictures, he's such a cute lad. Run free, Jack. Big hugs, Annette, he's going to leave a huge hole.

I remember him so well Annette, right back from my days as a lurker, and always followed your posts.
So sorry for your loss, we wish they could stay for ever. What a good life you gave him and you made the right decision for him at the end. xx

So sorry to hear your sad news :( What wonderful memories you have created together. Try to hang on to the fact he had a most fantastic life with you, was well loved all his days and had a peaceful passing. At times like this, with owners who care so much, I always think that the dog who has gone was one of the lucky ones. Your wee boy, Jack, had lots of love and the best of care as well as many doggy adventures by your side throughout his life.

RIP handsome man.
