Another pooping question....dog shuffle backwards whilst squatting

Here's another "issue". Why does he shuffle backwards as he poohs? He ALWAYS treads in it! Bad enough at any time, but he's loose tonight so it gets everywhere!

Can't say I have seen it before, although I have seen older dogs reverse into a hedge or ditch to do their business.
B has managed to pee on his fleece and his lead in the past few days

normally they're trying to rub their anal glands on the floor coz they're too full.

His bum isn't on the floor. My old dog used to do that and he'd drag bum on the floor whilst moving fowards.

Harvey is stooping and as he stoops he lifts his right hind leg and it moves backwards slightly as he does it.

I've seen it several times in young terrier pups, it just seems to be an issue with balance!! He will grow out of it!

Thank God for that! I need an extra hand to hold him and wash his paws when he's done it. If I ask a child to assist they wretch!

So does my OH when I have a litter of puppies that have all just done it!!
