My Resolution for this yer was to try new and different horsey things so I've decided to go and do a ridden coloured class on my friends pony this weekend, or on the 28th of september.
Now, I have never done an in hand showing class before, nevermind ridden.
So what exactly do i have to do?
I think i have the basics,
I follow the leader, then do my individual show. Then we line up and we get pulled up...I think

So question time:
1: How do i avoid being the leader! I am so scared of this aspect
2: what do i do in my individual show?!

Thank you for any answers. I am really excited and I can't wait!

There isn't really a 'leader' as such, you just all go around the ring. If you are in front then just do a circle and pull in behind. You are allowed to do this.

I won't try typing out a full show but a few tips - keep it pretty short, keep walking to a minimum but you do still need to show a walk. And keep in the judges eye line i.e don't go behind the row of horses!

Good luck!

Maybe post in competition riders? They have shower peep's in there, who will help you! Good luck! And I want to see pictures, would have loved to have done it with my mare before I emigrated!

Watch a couple of in-hand classes before you go in, look for the ones where people a figure of 8 in front of the judge. Keep a reasonable distance away from the horse in front. They are looking for a good walk and flowing trot paces, and most of all good behaviour make sure the horse stands up nice and straight!

Most of all smile and have fun...
