There's a nice TB on our yard, stressy, but polite and good natured. We stable in a barn, with brick boxes down the sides, built up to the ceiling, and more open boxes in the middle with bars from halfway up.
TB has been in the brick boxes.
Couple of weeks ago, owner decided to paint his stable, so moved him temporarily into an empty box in the middle of the barn with grills on all 4 sides.
From the word go, TB stopped weaving, whinnying, box walking, sweating up and just stood touching noses with his neighbours, munching his hay and generally looking around and watching everything going on. Different animal, he looked so happy and calm.
So I asked the owner's friend if he was going to stay where he was since he was such a changed animal and obviously so happy where he was. 'Oh no', came the response 'she (owner) doesn't like those boxes'
To which I replied 'oh, of course. I mean, since when were we in this game for the good of the animal.' Adding, as I walked off in disgust 'I've never heard anything so ridiculous in my life'.
Is is just me??
Don't know why, but this has just enraged me.
