Alf had his graunchy knee steroided last week, and has been so bouncy ever since, that I thought I'd take him for a plod, to see if he still wanted to be ridden.
The amount of hosing off I had to do when we got him is proof positive that he's not yet ready to hang up his dancing boots!

And he got to play bitey face with his favourite girl (who loves him really!)

In case anyone was wondering - the upside down overreach boots are deliberate! I haven't forgotten how to dress him!
Out of interest, what purpose do they provide like that?

I used to put overreaches on the back to stop old horse from treading on himself when sausage boots didn't work, I would get weird looks all over the place!

He takes the skin off the front of his fetlocks when he goes down to roll/sleep, and these are the best option for protecting the area without him getting hot sticky legs

That’s clever re over reach boots. I might try it. Mine insists on rolling on a stony patch. He has ‘bedsore boots’ but they are not quite tough enough.
