To those of you who have been on riding holidays abroad, what did you do about tipping? Do you just tip the guide of the ride or do you leave one tip for everyone at the ranch? Do you tip a percentage of the cost of the holiday (a rather large amount) or a certain amount per day? Holiday is in Canada.

Tipping is such a minefield! Any guidance is appreciated.

It sometimes says in the booking info. Ours did for a US trip where tipping is pretty much compulsory. I’ve had one where the tip was included which I thought was easier, and ones where we paid in cash at the end to the main person.

Thinking of a Canada riding trip this year, where are you going? Exciting!

Not me, my daughter! She’s off to the Rockies with Unicorn Holidays. Never done one before so things like tipping are all new. I like the sound of it but not the camping (I don’t do camping)
