Horse (wimpy warmblood) was out with a rainsheet on in pissing rain at night. Came in shivering her butt off the next morning, rainsheet had leaked. Prone to loosing weight, though good cond. at the moment. Not far off bare field with no shelter, just hedge borders on 2 sides. Torrential rain forecast again. What would you do?

I'd personally bring in, but a warmer rug would probably also do the trick

I said warmer rug (my cob goes to pieces if he gets cold!)

However, I find that they chill down much quicker in a leaky rug than no rug. It seems if water gets through it traps and they then don't/can't warm up again. If they're naked their body heat dries them out faster.

I think you need an option that says 'I know my horse best so I'll do what's right for it since no two horses are the same.'

I'd bring in - both of mine come in if its heavy rain. This is mostly to protect the paddock but they both get cold very quickly.
