ANOTHER saddle doesn't fit! So disappointed.

I have a wide cob.
I know she's not the widest but she is pretty wide,so obviously finding a saddle to fit her is tricky.
I thought I'd got it right with a nice GFS saddle but it turned out to be a bit on the narrow side, which was annoying as it fitted me perfectly, so then I had a kay humphries saddle, fitted the horse but the seat was sloping forward and as she's low withered and slightly bum high it meant every ride I was pushing myself "uphill" so to speak, and finishing with backache.
I was able to borrow a humphries and swain treeless for a while which fitted me well but I think it wasn't quite right on my horse, tried a solution treeless from a friend which was alright but can't afford it, finally thought I'd got lucky with one of the heather moffett flexee prototypes being sold off cheap, it arrived today and looked lovely and felt nice and light, but it's only been designed so it slopes effing downhill! I did about 3 strides and got off it was horrible!
Just so fed up now, I was really looking forward to having a saddle again and going for a blast, I have no money left, even if I get money back for this I've got vet bills to pay. Is it really so hard to find a saddle to fit me and my horse?! :( >:(
 
Have you tried something like a front riser or one of the saddle cloths with pads (shims, I think) that you can put in to add a bit of height? I haven't a lot of experience in them, someone else on here might be able to give you more help. I think they are being used more now by people whose horses change shape seasonally.
 
I thi k the flexee is designed to be used with a Shimee pad from nuumed, or something similar, so you should very easily be able to lift it at the front? At least That's what 've read anyway.
 
You can't beat an experienced (and recommended) saddler.

I had a high withered but wide pony, we mentioned that he was high withered but not wide when we rang the saddler, so he came out with lots of narrow saddles. Took one look at my pony, told us nothing he had with him would fit, but he had something in his shop that would. Came back the next day with this saddle, and it fitted perfectly :)

A good saddler knows what types of saddle fit what shapes of horses, and then you know that your saddle definitely fits your horse!
 
I have a very wide flat backed cob, he is still slightly bum high and very short. My saddle fitter felt that a hoop tree saddle would be the way to go for him.

I had a 15 inch Ideal VSD made for him. My saddler has also been able to adjust the head and flocking (twice already since Jan) to accommodate his changing shape. He is loosing weight (gone from 570k on the weigh tape down to 449) but also changing skeletatly as he was only 4 when I got him. Saddle was exspensive, but I could have easily spent more by buying unsuitable saddles.
 
I feel your pain! I've had two made to measure saddles, don't fit, bought a Saddle company saddle off eBay and have fitter coming tonight to see if it can be adjusted to fit my pony! If not I will have to buy another m3m!
 
You need quite a specific type of saddle. The one's you mention are usually build on a A-frame tree, the rear gusset too deep and the tree and bars not flat enough for a wide flat cob. You're unlikely to get one to fit until you know what you're looking for so get someone out who knows what they're doing.

If you can't find a cheap solution 2nd hand, you can get them on a payment plan? Might be an idea if it was ok on your horse? :)
