Another SJ question - regional points?

The class I did today said regional points awarded. I assume I have accrued some points for coming 3rd - does anyone know what this means or what it is for?
I was at a show in area 15 but our regular area is 12a - will this make any difference?
I assume as a single-horse owner that is just starting out we are unlikely to accrue enough points to challenge anyone in whatever league table or whatever this is but I'd still be interested to know what its all about.

And they are done on combination of horse and rider so you have just as much chance as someone else to do well in the league.

You are a member of Region A, which has both Area 15 and 12a in it.

Never noticed that on the BSJA site. Although we don't seem to have a league...! How can you tell what you're area is under? I assume being in NE Scotland Im under the "Scottish & Northern Equestrian League" however Ive never seen any of those names before....?!

Also, what classes are points awarded in? For example, what about Opens?

You would be in thescottish league.

You only get points in Amateur classes
