Another Storm thread.

Useful image, I think the circles with times in are meant to be the centre of the storm.

Thanks Elvis, that agrees with what I'd heard, we expect it here around 6am. It's been a blustery day alright and alternate black and blue skies, not too bad so far though.

Hmm, well the BBC weather for Leeds says 18-20mph and not 40-50mph or whatever it is they've been saying. All pretty quiet up here although was breezy most of the day and with the odd heavy rain shower. Seems to have calmed down now.

Me I've battened down the hatches, horses tucked up in their stables and I'm off to bed where I'm going to stay under the duvet with my earplugs in. :D

Ear plugs won't help me my little dog is terrified of wind. He was bad enough last night so god help us if it's as bad as predicted tonight. Hopefuly ponies should be ok as they are out and there are no big trees in the field. Probably won't stop me worrying though.

South Dartmoor, Devon - Was blustery all day with rain from mid-day. Had a lovely windy ride this morning. It's now pouring down causing lots of floods/large puddles on the roads. Wind has started to pick up but I'm sure the main part of the storm isn't going to hit until midnight tonight. Neds are all rugged up and out as they have plenty of shelter - if they want it!

:( Elvis it's looking bad for me then. It's now raining in the new forest But the wind is still gone (for now anyway)

Me too, I'm in the 70-80mph zone. I just hope I sleep through it as I know I'll be worried about the horses, they are in their stables which is in a brand new barn, but there are a couple of old trees outside that could topple on to it.

I'm about half a mile from the beach between Worthing and Littlehampton W. Sussex. After being dry most of the afternoon early evening it has just started to rain more heavily again and the wind is starting to gust up the road. Somebody's car alarm is going off already - oh joy! I may have to sleep in the spare room as the rain always batters my bedroom windows at the best of times.

I'm in South Bedfordshire and its pretty ok here at the moment. Light rain and not much wind.
Found it quite amusing though that when my OH went to buy a loaf of bread earlier from our local co-op store the cashier told him 'Sorry, we've sold out, people have been panic buying due to the Storm' We're ok, I have Scotts Porridge oats in the cupboard ;)
Seriously though I hope we all weather it well and report in tomorrow with no damage :)

It rained heavily around 3, which was what the BBC had said, now it's raining a little and it's blustery. From the radar pics it looks as though we missed the heaviest of the rain, which passed a little south of us.

I don't think we're having a storm. I don't believe you all! It has rained here but it is no windier than yesterday. Which was blowy but definitely not the perfect storm. We don't get extreme weather in Suffolk ever though :)

I'm in fareham (supposedly right in the thick of it, between Southampton and Portsmouth on the south coast) and I slept all night and gone for a quick walk out this morning and can't see what all the fuss was about tbh, maybe other areas on the south coast got it worse and I somehow missed it?!

And now it's heaving down with rain - the gutters are all overflowing and we have a pool not a sand school. And as I type this it's just started coming in through the dining room ceiling!

We had wind and rain for most of the night. This morning I had to detour to the yard as both my options for getting there had flooded, and we had a few big branches and small trees down. Horses at the yard all fine but we've lost a phone line and a large tree branch which fell over the haylage.

We were supposed to be in the thick of it but the only damage is a few branches, the odd potted plant, a couple of wheelie bins and a fence, and that's after driving around the town and surrounding areas so really not bad at all. No rain but a bit blustery now.

Here over near Burnley weve not had nothing, well just abit of rain and abit of wind but not OTT, was expecting it to be bad but nothing! Currently sat in the office at work and I can see trees blowing and hear the wind coming in through the cracks in the window lol :) Was pretty dark earlier on with quite abit of rain!

Was worse on friday when it was fork lightening and the heavens opened, I litrally walked 5 mins to put ponies out and I was drenched to the skin! And also last saturday the sky went yellow, convinced the world was ending!
