Just been to feed the girls, my mare is sweating (cold sweat) around and inbetween her back legs.
This is unusual.
She’s not a sweaty pony but she has a winter coat and it was 18c today, but her front end seems fine.
She’s eating normally, I can hear stomach sounds, I’ve left her out and will go and check on her in an hour so.
What on earth? If she was hot wouldn’t the front swear too?
She’s 22 could it be the start of Cushings? Hard to tell as she’s on medication for EMS which makes her pee more and of course manages the risk of laminitis. She is slightly overweight and I’ve just ordered her a new muzzle.
We rode round the block earlier, 25 mins so (in total) 1 minute of trotting, she wasn’t sweating then. She seemed fine to ride.
Unlikely to be fireworks as she’s not bothered by them and the other pony (now trace clipped) was fine.
Google tells me she’s about to drop head of a neurological condition.
Any thoughts? I’m going to check on her a couple more times and will probably call the vet to book a Cushings test tomorrow.
