My friend has lost her grazing and all her horses have to go, she is very upset as most she bred herself and has owned them all for years. She really hasn't any idea on thier value especially with the present economic climate. She has no internet facilities and although she is based in Kent and I am in Scotland, she has asked me to put them on a website preferable a free one if anyone has any suggestions.

W I really don't have a clue what kind of prices to ask because I always pay too much for any horses I buy, so thought I'd throw out a "how much" to all of you so we can chew it over.
Also any confo critiques please.

The 4 year old is by my daughters stallion Lennox Inspiration and out of a TB mare. He is massive at 4 and has a laid back temperament.

Yearling TB filly - athletic and well put together to make 16.2 hh

11 year old TB mare,16hh broken at 5 and ridden quietly round farm sound - low milage horse with lovely temperament easy in all ways

i'd say they are not worth a great deal in the current climate...

the mare is very pretty, but at 11 and having only pootled around a farm, she can't really be sold as a riding horse. and the 17hh gelding... is huge and unbroken at 4 - has he started his 'education' at all? if not, again, he's quite a daunting project!

to be honest (and i'm not an expert), unless they had exceptional breeding, i wouldn't pay more than 500quid each...

I would think the yearling would be around £600-£800, the mare £1500 if she could be a nice quiet hack and the gelding £1000 as he could do someone nicely as a hunter.

Good luck to your friend, sad situation to be in and not the best climate to sell horses.

I would agree with the above except I would value them currently as more like 1k each.

Do they have any notible breeding?

The 4yo is not yet too old to begin his training although it would reep dividens if your friend could start of this process and introduce him to tack and the lunge.
Also would help if he lost some weight so you can see the horse benief the belly, then his value may well go up.

Thanks to everyone.
The gelding I believe has been started lunged and well handled. His sire a RID sold for £5500 a few years ago when broken at 3 and a half.
The mare is a real genuine sort that anyone could ride but not done much else. Couple of local shows I think in Working hunter.

The yearling filly = - well just that but nice looking

I will get all the info later
