I'm sure these are getting boring now! Well we took her to the vets this morning for check up and for the drain to be removed.

However, as there is still some stuff draining from the eye the vet is leaving the drain in as he doesn't want to risk any going back in behind the skin.

So back to the vets on Monday evening for drain and stitches removal.

She's still in great form although hates her lampshade! Also, this morning she kept trying to move the lampshade to the side and rub her wound against my leg, so I'm assuming that it must be getting itchy now it is healing?

Well the itchy bit is a good sign!

Definitely sounds as if its on the mend. We had to manage without a lampshade on my girl. She had full sight in her eye until it was removed and I think the loss of vision coupled with the lampshade really freaked her out. We had a few hairy days just before the stitches came out with her trying to scratch it but the stitches survived. Mind you she did end up sleeping next to my bed so I could hear if she tried to scratch in the night.
Personally I don't find the updates boring, just glad to hear she is doing okay.

Thankfully she doesn't need to get used to lsoing sight as she was already blind as I think that would make things much more difficult. She is such a trooper though. Her tail never stops wagging

(well, apart from when we took her into the vets!)

That is good news,
Hopefully with this visit just turning into a check up rather than drain out may help give her faith back for a short while with the vet!!
