another "to hog or not to hog!" thread!

Looks like a proper cob now:D I still think you should do some workers with her, some scars should not be a problem at local level and she really looks the part.
 
Be positive - there is a local show on 29th April with small workers classes. I'm seriously considering having a go! Fences are only 2ft - 2ft6, so that should be no problem, but what's expected for the 'show' part? Is it the usual walk-trot-canter-gallop individual show piece, as per ridden showing? Do you think the brown tweed in our first 'cubbing' pic is ok, or would green be more suitable (there's a lovely green tweed on sale at my local tack shop!) ?
Tack wise its almost 'anything goes' isn't it? She goes well in a gag, so would probably go for the hunter bridle + gag with double reins.
So many questions! Lol x

Re: Sunburn - Didn't mean her baldy patch, meant along the top of her neck, now the mane has gone, her crest will have next to no hair coverage. Sparks crest got badly sunburnt once. It was really hot the day after I hogged her and I was caught out!:( Poor girly it looked soooooo sore, so used a neck rug when out during the day and suncream when 1st hogged and sunny.

Re: showing and your mares bald patch, mine has one about the size of my hand on her shoulder/neck (looks like old bite wounds), have shown her in cob and coloured classed and no judges have ever notice/commented and she has always won or been highly placed.

Also if she will go in a Pelham rather than a gag, she will really look the part. :)

Ah yes, I did think that as all of the skin along her crest is pink! Sunblock all the way!
I tried her in a mullen mouth pelham and she wasn't too keen, so I'm going to borrow a ported and a french link, see if she prefers either of those =) x
