Hi all

I've read through lots and lots of the towing threads, but I'm interested in the opinions of people who have towed with a yeti.

I intend towing a 420kg horse in an IW505. It's a 170bhp 2litre version and I hope to do short journeys occasionally, though I am in the South Wales valleys so plenty of hillwork. Any opinions greatly appreciated.

B & E Rog - pretty sure as to the legalities of it - having read your threads extensively :-) - thank you for all the help on those.

Was after someone's experiences of the realities of using it as a towing vehicle. Things to avoid, etc.

Well, oddly enough, I have also just bought a yeti - Monte Carlo also 2.00 170bhp.

However, I will be towing a lightweight trailer, Indespension, with one large pony on board.

But to reach our farm, we do have a steep hill and also wondering whether it will cope well.

Mine is a DSG auto, which apparently I can put into second gear.

BUT for advice your best place is Briskoda - Yeti section. Fount of knowledge.

Will be interested in how you fair. Let me know!

Gryff - will do. But I don't think we will be going out again until March or April next year. But all is not lost as I love, love, this car! And I am NOT a petrolhead!

However, the trailer was serviced by GT Towing and they said the Yeti was an excellent towcar - GT are experts IMHO....so I went and bought one - howzat?

AutumnLeaf - they are amazing. Being a mere woman, I rarely understand what they are talking about on Briskoda, but what I do 'get' is very helpful. Having gone from a 17 year old car (with cassette player) to a new Yeti, the computerisation has me foxed sometimes. I have the diesel and its great fun to drive. Unfortunately, my lovely new car is now involved in the Volkswagen fiasco.

Oh well, I still love her!!

My OH is in love too. He went out last weekend in the snow and was so impressed with how it coped. It's doing about 45mpg on his 50 mile workrun too, so he's very happy with that. We didn't particularly buy it for towing, but if it does, that's a bonus.
