Another Trimmer/barefoot friendly farrier post but Herts/Bucks this time

I'm thinking of trying my girl barefoot, various reasons, and was wondering if anyone can recommend a farrier in this area that would be good for info and advice?

Use a registered farrier and not a barefoot trimmer.

Farriers have had to take a 4 year plus diploma whereas trimmers don't.

Check the farriers registration website to find your nearest one.

Mark Johnson covers a large area, he is a farrier, that has 70per cent barefoot clients. He is coming to me tomorrow.

Just because they have taken a 4 year diploma doesn't make them any good. Just like any proffession there are good ones and bad ones.

I changed to a barefoot trimmer as my farrier didn't seem to know how to trim for anything but a 'pasture trim' and my horse had real trouble in ridden work. His feet have improved dramatically since and we haven't looked back.
