I'm not going to the hospital today but I've just had a phone call from Paul. The neck man came to see her this morning and said "I see she's been in the news a bit but I don't know who told them her broken neck was serious. It certainly wasn't me because it's a minor bone that's broken and she doesn't actually need to wear a collar at all because it will mend just fine by itself" (or words to that effect). Cue, whoops of delight from all of us as the collar looked terribly uncomfortable and the poor love is in enough discomfort without that!!
Secondly, they scanned her head again yesterday using a special scanner which belongs to the University and is normally only used for research. As I said before, they were concerned as to what had happened to the bleeding that occurred at the site of the fracture and know they've found it - they suspect it is what is causing her eye to not react properly. Know they know, they can decide what to do about it. So that's more good news.
Thirdly, she's breathing better and there's much less muck in her lungs.
They haven't taken her off sedation yet but will do once the much stronger pain killers they've given her kick in. Then when she wakes up they will begin to be able to assess exactly what her brain is able to make her body do.
All in all, very positive
I need to apologise to Ifield who I confused with someone else - apologies Ifield
Oh, and just one other thing, apparently the East Anglian Daily Times has an article today saying she has crashed her lung (whatever that means) - absolutely untrue.
