For those of you who didn't read my previous posts: Kingsley has been diagnosed with navicular disease, SI strain and described as bad assymetry/crookedness case by his physio. He had most modern drugs pumped/injected into him. No change for over a year.
As a last resort we took him to Rockley Farm for barefoot rehab. He's been there since 9th of October this year.
I watched yesterday's footage of Kingsley's walk with amazement. For the first time in over a year he walks straight, no medial deviation of hocks, no screwing his tail to the side...he is compensating less and less.
His feet still have a long way to go but the fact he grows a totally different angle/shape of horn is interesting to say the least.
I just wanted to share this as I know some of you are battling with variety of soudness and schooling issues. I don't want to say that barefoot is an answer to everything but Kingsley's example is a living proof yet again that better foot mechanics gives the horse a better body...
His spinal/lateral crookedness, SI weakness have been worrying us for a long time as it seems to have been progressing despite all the "treatement".
Now we are finally daring to be positive!
Perhaps this might of interest to those of you who have horses with back issues. Apprently, most lamenesses (also low grade) cause back issues but not many back problems cause lamenesses.
I guess what Kingsley is saying is, fix my the feet first please, the rest might follow.
