My mare was diagnosed with uveitis yesterday, have done plenty of research, had a lot of info from vet am just looking for some tips on administering the eye drops, eye is closed at the moment so it's difficult and have 3 different drops to give numerous times a day.

Hi,
I put the headcollar on and put one hand up and under the nose band to secure my horses head and pull the bottom lid down and put drops right in the corner. He the blinks them round the rest of his eye, some does seem to go on eye lashes but it does seem to work. Good Luck x

I found that attaching the lead-rope to the halter, and then dropping it to the floor and standing on it stopped my girl throwing her head up - then put your hand inside the halter as Karen.nicholls describes.

Friend of mine had mare diagnosed this, dreadful time with vet and medication after. Detested the UV mask
She put her on silver lining bright eyes herbs, and in 2-3 months the condition more or less cleared up, still turned out in dark mask, but that was more a precaution.
