I have a welshie that is proving tricky with saddles. I have a treeles which I will be using for jumping but would like a tree saddle for dressage/flat now that she has fully grown. I have been recommended an oval tree but finding it hard to find a saddle in a reasonable price range.

I had an ideal Jessica which did not fit (points of the tree created pressure points)

any experiences of the following
GFS monarch regency cob dressage (or any of the monarch range)

Kent and masters dressage cob

Black Country saddles seem good too but too pricey for me unless I can find a used one that I can try first

or any other recommendations?
she’s not a round as many welsh d’s are and has some slight Arab like features and is croup high

The only saddle that fitted my old welsh D was a T4 cob. Not ideal if you want to compete though. She was typical welsh cob physique.

My welsh D X, who has a more ponyish build, has a Black Country GP which fits really nicely. Comfortable saddle to ride in too.

I have a tb x Welsh D, (you honestly wouldn’t know there’s tb in his build!) and I had a saddler out that said the K&M cob suited his profile well (She let me try the t4, t8 etc). Also the K&M compact (which is what I went for)
In reply to southern comfort above, It’s my understanding that the t4, t8 and K&M cobs are all the same shape and profile, but just vary with the materials. (T4 full synthetic, t8 leather seat and knee rolls, K&M full leather).

Ah...got you. So you can have basically the same saddle in leather if you pay a bit more.

Thanks all. Hopefully got some lined up to try including the k&m cob dressage.
Also had a suggestion of wintec arena but they seem very new so no 2nd hand ones and the new price is nearly £1k which o find excessive for a synthetic.
