Currently our cob x is ridden bitless. This is the what she was used to when she came to us. This is ok but she can be stubburn and pig headed. This could be down to her coming back into work after some years doing nothing.

We have tried her briefly in a snaffle, which induced lots of head tossing etc. She has had her teeth done and all is well there.

Just wondered what you would try and where to go next with this

What's she ridden bitless in? I'd probably steer away from bits if you don't know the reason why she isn't in them. Plenty of bitless options to give more control.

Ah bugger it's lets cut to the chase. Did you just bung the bit in and ride or did you carefully re/introduce her to the bit? Do you know if she's ever been ridden with a bit before, if so what bit was used? Do you know why she is currently bitless?

OK cross posted:D

So, do you know if she has ever been bitted before and did you carefully reintroduce or introduce the bit?

If she goes well bitless other than being a bit rude I would be inclined to try other types of bitless before introducing a bit.

Yes she was ridden with a bit for about a year. Although I couldn't she which bit.

Also yes we started slowly. Literally seconds to start and built it for there before trying to ride her in it. Put yummies on it etc to encourage mouthing.

Could you contact her previous owner for some idea of why they stopped using a bit and what bit she was ridden in? I would also be inclined to stay within the bit less range perhaps also chat to edt regarding the conformation of her mouth, how old is she, does she still have wolf teeth, this could be the issue?
