Another wolf tooth question!

Im full of questions tonight, lol!
My boy is having his one wolf tooth out next week and he has to be sedated, does anyone know if they give the horse pain killer before?
I think its a bit cruel to sedate them so they cant react to the pain if they dont numb it first!

they gave pain killer after to my mare as op went wrong, not sure what happen if op went to plan. i know where your coming from on the doping so don't react to pain tho.x

usually they sedate with Domosedan which has an analgesic (pain killer) in it. Mix it with either sedivet or torbugesic.......what ever takes the vets fancy!

ahhhh ok, that would be good then, i just had this awful thought of him in pain but not being able to react!

my mare had 2 out couple weeks ago and was sedated once she came round you would never have known she had just had 2 teeth out and one of them was a right pain to get out
have had no problems since not even any swelling of any kind
