Don has been away for 7 weeks now, instructor says he is ready to come home after being broken to harness! I have been having lessons, driving instructors pony to start, and then driving don, for the last 3 lessons. We have got another week there, then its up to us to whether we are ready to have him home.
And thats where my worry is. I dont want to bring him back too soon and ruin all the work he has had done, but obviously I want him home, and I think thats clouding my judgement as to whether I am ready.
ARGH!!!!

What does your instructor and person who's been breaking him think? If they are people you trust - and they say you are ready - take a deep breath and go for it.
They know you/ him best.

Have a talk to who has been breaking him i and i assume she is also your instructor. If she/he thinks that you are both ready then take him home, if ot leave him there for another week or two while you get a bit more experience and confidence. Good luck whatever you decide.

Could they bring Don over so you can try driving him round your local area but with their supervision/assistance?

I would do either this or get him home and arrange for the instructor to come over for your first few drives just to give you some support and boost your confidence, then make sure whoever goes with you is someone you trust that can easily hop out if required and assist rather than a passenger.
