Another yard choice

Lack of turnout but also the hacking, I would not want to be in dangerous situations out hacking (A road and other horses) if I could possibly help) and to me two hacks a week are the bare minimum for a well-rounded and fit horse.

Still swithering since I posted this, purely in the hope that something changes but alas, yard 1 has announced prices will be up quite considerably so it looks like yard 2 is the answer. Money not a problem(within reason) but I just don't feel it's value for money at all now.

The limited turnout, poor hacking (riding through a field of horses makes me 😬) and bad school would make me avoid yard 1. Yard 2 sounds lots better, especially if you can pay for services and share visits with another DIY.

Could you not find a sharer or freelance groom to help you on yard 2? I think the bad hacking opportunities and lack of turnout at yard 1 would be a hard no from me.

Thankfully on enquiring, yard 2 now has a freelance livery who offers assistance and someone else offers weekend assistance so a big bonus.

Just an update- I’m leaving yard 1. I’ve had absolutely enough. It just gets worse. I’ve held on for long enough in the hope that it will improve. Part of me is quite sad about it, I have a lot of memories there and it seemed like the best place on earth when I arrived there with my horse as a 14year old. Oh how things can change. I am relieved to have secured 2 stables at yard 2. I think it’s for the best. Excitement tinged with burdens of doubt though- will ems horse cope with change of field/new grass/new hay. I suppose I’m more knowledgeable about it now to spot any signs. Hoping this next few weeks goes as smoothly as possible, I need stranges tests and then the move itself. Oh and better inform Yo, doubt that will go well.
