Does anyone know if Anthony Evans insurance are still trading? I've emailed them twice in the last couple of weeks and no reply, telephoned this morning and their phone line is out of action too. Just coincidence, or has something happened to them, anyone know?

Its all ok I took a policy with them yesterday and had the same problem with the phone. I sent them a message through the call back service and they called me back about 2 mins later to say that they are having problems with their phone lines at the moment!

Phew!:D

Hope not as I have my horsebox insurance with them.....wouldn't surprise me if they stop offering recovery eventually. I have had loads of problems with them (the recovery agents) and an endless stream of contradicting e-mails from the company which provides the recovery, trying to explain why they left me for four hours on the motorway........

Their recovery is absolutely shocking. wouldnt touch them for anything based on the bad recovery experience I had.

Their recovery is shameless!

It would be better to hack home and abandon your lorry!

Anything that tows a horse lorry in the air with the horse on board or worse, sticks broken down lorry with ned still in on top of a low loader is shameless!

Needless to say-I will be in counselling for years! But found salvation with Equine Rescue Services!

You get what you pay for now adays!

Their recovery is shocking, I broke down at 10pm on a Sunday night in the middle of Switch Island coming out of Aintree Equestrian Centre. I called the recovery and was told there was no one to pick up my horse and they would have to tow my lorry with the horse in it, also I would need to sign a disclaimer to say they would not be responable for any injuries to her! I was in complete shock, luckily a friend came to our rescuse and with the police closing the road we managed to load her and send her off home. When the recovery guy turned up and jacked the lorry up it made me realise even more that there was no way she would have stayed on her legs and would probably never travelled again :(

When I renewed my policy last year I moved to NFU and when I called Anthony Evans to tell them I didnt need my policy with them they asked why. When I explained the recovery wouldnt send transport for my horse she told me they always did and it must have been a mistake.....well that is nice love but when you are in the middle of a major motorway junction at 10pm at night with a horse that doesnt always travel well and you get told there is no one to come to pick your horse up...explain that one!!
