Do they really work?
There seems to be lots of different types on the market, which are best?

I also need something that fits Chihuahua's, who are going to get me evicted with the constant yapping :(

If anyone knows of anything else that will curb there barking then I'd love to know :)

We use the one designed by roger mugford, aboistop anti bark collar - sprays citronella. It works for most of the dogs we use it on but there are some that arent bothered and just back until it runs out lol x

Do you have more than one dog?

They can activate when another dog barks in the vacinity of the collar meaning that the dog wearing it gets squirted even if it has not barked.

My aunt bought some sort of sonor thing. It's a little box about the size of a digital camera, you can place it anywhere you want (i think there's a smaller version you can carry round with you) And when he barks it emits a sound which makes them stop. It's worked miracles! If you're interested ill speak to her and find out what it's called.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I have 2 dogs so a collar may not be an option.
As for when do they bark? It can be constant, and for no apparant reason. One sets the other off and they just don't stop yapping.
Both are boys (2 brothers) and both most definitely have little man syndrome.
I do have a cage for them and they go in it at bed time and rarely bark once in it but obviously they can't spend their life caged.

One is much worse than the other, he has some attitude on him, will chase people down the street barking if he can give me the slip :(

Maybe try and address the issue, have a close look, identify the triggers and try and train them out of it...you could redirect all the pent up energy/attitude into something else.
