I have discovered something that seems to keep those horrible flies that hang like bats in caves in horses ears and sometimes tummy/chest areas!

I got a pot of Vaseline and added a fair few drops of citronnella, then wiped a bit on the very tips of Toff's ears, inside and out, and around her udder area. This seemed to keep them away for about a week!!

Just thought would pass on as it is very cheap and seems to work, especially in their ears

I use SWAT. Do you have that over there? Yes those little Black Flies are the bane of every horse's ears!!

I have the pink SWAT so all my horses have bright pink ears and udders/sheaths.

PF would love it!!

Not heard of that so I don't think so! Toff currently has yellow udders/surrounding area from summer fly strike cream, which also seems to work quite well but doesn't last as long as the vaseline mixture and also stains her socks when she lies down!

I like the idea of pink pony...

!! I think I will have to do it though - just the look on their faces would be reward enough.
