Anti-bucking device

erm yep weve used one!! it clipped onto the bit either side then over the headpiece down the neck, (could clip on to saddle then like a crupper which attached to cantle) if not straight down neck and bback and under the tail!!
stopped him doing it as he realised what he could do anymore!

sounds rather complicated!

I had a very technical piece of equipment when I was little and had a right cow bag of a pony. Length of bailer twine from bit up through browband and down to saddle. Helped a bit!
I'm sure you'd consider this bad form now, but I guess the 'anti bucking devices' you can buy now are probably an expensive version of this.....

thanks. the monty roberts one has a gum line i think which is no good, as it is for galloping an over fresh pointer! He has had me off a couple of times now, he really needs a race. He has had is back, teeth etc done. Its not pain, and believe me you can come and try and sit his bucks, you are welcome though you better have good insurance!
I have spent last summer backing numerous ponies which despite some of their best attempts couldn't get me off, and before my other horse was diagnosed with a kissing spine he could buck!
Pointer has a tendancy to be galloping, drop his head launch into air and throw a massive buck, then spin on landing which is fairly hard to sit! He is a bit overfresh because of this silly weather meaning he hasn't had as many canters as I would like.
