I own a very chunky gypsy cob with little withers and because of this her saddle tends to slip to one side so I use a prolite saddle stay pad (the saddle and her back have been checked and they're both fine) http://www.thesaddleryshop.co.uk/P/Prolite_Horse_Saddle_Stay_Pad_16_over_saddle-(563).aspx
I was told to use it without a numnah/saddle pad for best effect but I am taking her xc on Thursday and was wondering if it will provide enough cushion and be comfortable for her whilst jumping? It is not a competition so there are no rules as to what the horse should wear and the jumps are very small (max 3'') but I just want her to be comfortable. What do you think?

Sounds like it should be fine. Check her for any rubs after jumping across her ribs and parts of her body the antislip will not cover..if shes going to get them its most likely to be when xc as she will likely be hot & maybe a bit sweaty so its a good test! If you do find her saddle rubs at all use it with the thinnest possible numnah next time. :)

The jumps are only 3 inches? Where is it - it sounds like my height!

Sorry, couldn't resist a tease!

I agree - if the fit is good, go in what she's comfortable in
