My horse has started weaving. Problem is he has had to stay in with snow and because he expects to go out in the morning he is working himself up. As well as moving head side to side, he also stamps the feet. I am now thinking of putting up a grille as I dont want it to become a habit and he is fine most of the time. Does anyone have any opinions on this. Also where is the cheapest place to get one.

I have a weaver and therefore a weaving grille, but my horse just stands behind it to weave and often bangs her head and I have had to pad it out as there is lots of solid metal edges.

I got mine from http://www.4dobbin.com/default.aspx?f=pl.aspx?l3catID=121

My instructor has a weaver on her yard and instead of having a weaving grill she has one of these hung from the top of the middle of the doorway and a clip on the door to attach it too.

Its cheaper and works just as well.

To use it to stop a weaver weaving it is hung down the middle of the doorway so they have no room to swing from side to side over the door. It also has the added bonus that you can put cut up apples/ carrots/ swede/ treats etc under the elastic round the ball.
