Right, to cut long story short, I ended up walking through a huge flood of sewage with my lovely Ariat Windermere's on! :( So now I'm very worried about how yucky my boots are and I haven't dare wear them since. I was wondering if anyone knew of anything that would be okay to wash/spray my boots with that is antibacterial? Would dettox be okay or would it ruin my boots? Thanks in advance!

Wait until dry, brush off the solid.
Try to dilute antibacterial washing up liquid use sponge to clean it perhaps? (Don't let your upper leather being too wet).
There is some disinfectant shoes spray you can buy from Boots, shoes stores. Which you can apply for inner shoes

I use dilute detol to wipe over all my leather stuff, tack, boots, sofa, all to no ill effect. I always condition the leather after.

In case you need to take care the sude bit, wet all the sude bit to minimum the differences in color after dry.
=)

Thanks for your help, I washed the leather with fairy liquid and scrubbed and scrubbed and they came out just fine :D Of course, I then went up to the yard and they're now caked it mud again

Always nice to read a good update. :)

But it is annoying isn't it, when you have a pair of cleaned and polished boots in the morning, and then they look as if they've never been close to a shoe brush in the evening.

*Mutters to myself* Must remember to not go through mud, must avoid mud...

I wear mine for work and have to disinfect before and after every farm I visit so disinefect at least 15-20 times per day and the windermeres are not affected by it. I use Iosan D Farm disinfectant and use it virtually neat!!

Oh the joys of mud  I never even bother to avoid mud anymore, if I tried to avoid it I think I'd have to fly to Australia :D :p
