Hi - I wondered if anyone would know if horse antibiotics degrade and loose there effectiveness if they have been out of the packet and exposed to the air for too long? The reason I ask is because I was recently given a course of antibiotics by the vet for my horse, we were splitting the packet over 2 feeds (one AM, one PM) but emptying each half in the morning, thus the antibiotic could be out of the packet and in the feed for 12 hours before being fed. I'm now wondering if this was the right thing to do.....
