I am struggling with dose for my itcher mainly because it takes a while for these drugs to take effect. Does anyone know how long, and has anyone else used the equivalent of Piriteze or Loratadine? I have gradually taken him up to 10x the human dose, based on body weight, and he is still itching.

Are you on Facebook? I've just joined the Sweet Itch Support group. They recommend using only Certirizine 10mg. I think the recommended dose is 0.2mg - 0.4mg per kg of body weight (but don't quote me on that). I'm sure if you ask on the group they will be able to answer your question. :)

Thanks - didn't know there was one, will check now. Ceterizine is the one I am currently trying but if your figures are right he needs half as much again. Cheers

No problem! My section c has just started on 8 tablets a day (4 am and 4 pm). Don't know if I'm allowed to say company name on here, but the Facebook group will give you the name of a company where you can buy the tablets cheaply!

I have tubs of 500; my mini is currently on 10 twice a day & its virtually stopped the rhinitus she has when the conker trees are in bloom.
She has been on them around 2 weeks & will be till end of June or thereabouts. At least they have stopped the weeping eyes & the bulk of the snuffly/sneezes. Cost me £13 inc postage for a tub :)
