Are the prepared in anyway?
Spud dog has just found two (attached by a tiny bit of yuck) and is pretty insistant that he’d like to bring them home.
I buy antlers and they love them, they are one of the few things that actually last a long time.
Are these safe?

I am on some doggy SM groups, and on there I've heard people saying that their dogs teeth have been cracked by them having had antlers to chew.

My ginger dog did find one up in the woods a few years back and was immensely pleased with herself for her find - it is still around here somewhere - every so often someone digs it up (usually buried in the muckheap) and trawls it round again.

Both Bear and Puss cat lost the same lower tooth after having antlers, but were fine with any bones. I personally think they’re fine, I’ve bought dried goat legs etc for this lot. Lucky find, I’d say.

Common cause of slab fractures of molars which is a pity as I have a vast free supply!
Out of curiosity, is that just for the red deer/the stem of the antler, or does that go for the flatter part of fallow deer antlers too?
Also, jealous of your free supply! I have 4 antlers I found when prepping a previous field for horses and I was over the moon. One day I'll craft something with them, but for now they're taking up space in my cupboard :D

Ours would all be Sika and Red or hybrids.

I wish. Small terrier bought a hedgehog home once 🤬
I remember coming down years ago to our first lab curled up tiny one side of his bad and a hedgehog the other! It was a small square utility room, no where for it to have been hidden the previous evening so can only assume dog carried it in!
