The girl who rides my horse for me is unexpectedly pregnant. I have three options: 1) bring horse back to my others and he does nothing in the hope that jockey will pick up again after baby arrives (I'm a mother of 3 so I know this is not likely), 2) sell him, 3) explore the possibility of sending him to a producer.

Am I too late to find a producer for this season and how on earth do you go about it?

Its worth asking on a show orientated forum like Horse Gossip, they have a producer/rider wanted and available sections

Also if you post a wanted advert people will usually recommend a good one in that area

I don't think you are too late, equines bought in for winter breaking and schooling will soon be returning home so you will probably find someone with space

Horse gossip would be a good place to find a producer, it is not too late to send him there are plenty of smaller yards that will not have a ride in every class and would be very happy to get in another horse to fill in the gap, make sure you check this before you send him as you need to make sure the rider will be available for the shows you want to see the horse compete at.
Bringing him home will waste a whole season, does that matter to you? can you keep him ticking over and find someone local to get him out and compete him until his regular rider comes back, or possibly could he do another job for this year dressage maybe.

Now would probably be a good time to sell while he is still with his current rider, do you want to sell, the other option maybe if he is suitable to lease for the season to a young rider, it would cut down your expenses and keep you involved with him to some extent.
