Hi my pony came in from the field 6 weeks ago lame on her hind leg with a lump just above her hock inside no broken skin. We are thinking she had been kicked.
The vet came and did X-rays, which came back showing no fractures or broken bones. So was told put her on box rest for a month on bute.
2 weeks later the lump popped and infection spilled out. Vet came again and put her on kardox antibiotic and continue with Bute for two more weeks.
Been taking her in the sand area to stretch her legs daily after a month on box rest as said it would be ok by the vet.
6 weeks on she is still lame when taken off the bute, vet did more X-rays looking for dead bone or fractures again nothing showing up, no reason for the lameness and told strange injury and to continue on box rest and bute for another month.
I have a lady coming out to do some low level laser work on the leg next week, to see if it can help the healing process .
I am running out of ideas to try find out what is wrong with her and my daughter is desperately missing riding her pony. Does any body have any ideas please

I'd get a second opinion. My big worry would be that there was still an infection & it had gone into the joint.
