Hiya, bet you aint as large as me and I still ride in jods! I find the old fashoned nylon ribbed ones look far better than the cotton/material ones you seem only to be able to buy these days, I get mine from Robinsons, their requisite range, as far as I know these are the only nylon ribbed ones you can now get (oh that you can get in a size 36 anyway!) since Caldene stopped making their reflex ones.
Oh and I only stick to either black or navy blue, I think i'd give the motorists a heart attack if they saw me in rising trot in a cream pair!
Feel free to PM if you want to know anything else.
I ride in Jodphurs - have to get them from the fuller fillies range though !!! ALWAYS DARK COLOURS !LOL - Saw a photo of myself in them and nearly died though. They do larger chaps as well.
Ah thanks everyone and thanks Jayne. I think I feel worse from the age of about 12 to early 20's I was still wearing the same size, in fact I think I had a couple of pairs of old jods I used to wear!! The last time I tried to put them on I almost had a hernia.
I'll check out Robinsons thanks and try something in the right size!
I am a fatty - not proud of it but fed up with all the cr@p pc of not being allowed to admit it .... sorry rant over.
Anyway .. IF you can get them I really like the Mountain Horse Isolde breeches. I have a pair of the faux suede seat ones and they are soooo comfy and they go up to a 38 waist!!!
Saying that I need a new pair and cant seem to find them atm.
Oh and a BIG t-shirt or jumper hides most of the bumps .. the bumps at the bottom are my legs and I cant do much to hide them.
Ummm I'm a much larger lady-and I use that word in it loosest term- and I got my jods from ebay. They are fab. Cant think where though on ebay but as soon as I do I will let you know. I am of the short fat variety-think shetland-so need little legs and these fit a treat.
I am large and I like to wear either dark or bi-coloured jods. You know the ones with a dark colour, like navy for example, on the bum and inside leg. I think it breaks up the overall picture so that you are not staring at a huge expanse of a single pale colour. A sort of "trompe l'oeil jodphur" if you like - lol

I love the Fuller Fillies range. I get quite a few comments about my jods and have great joy in telling "skinny wenches" that they aint got the junk in the trunk for Fuller Fillies. The range starts at size 16 upwards. Their show range is very good. Also Fuller Fillies are really helpful and if you sign up to their newsletter and become a "fluffy lillly" you may be chosen to test out new products
Not so much larger, just bits of me that don't match! ie legs belong to a teenager, bum to some bloke, waist - what waist - and bust, don't even go there! Anyway, Equetech do a fabulous stretch cord jod with stirrups in black, navy, maroon, think green. They pull sweetly on and stretch and slide happily over a vast multitude of sins! Look good and feel great. I'd wear them to work if I could!
Equitator do the largest calf boots in leather. Took me 10 years to find a pair that fasten around my fat legs. Brilliant to ride in as well, but can't walk in them.
I wear dark colour johds (most makes fit as I have a 30/32 inch waist)), a longer length top, and either Mountain Horse High Riders or Ariat Springbucks with half chaps. I have a Musto and a Toggi jacket.
I'm a size 18 on the bottom and 16 on the top half, weigh just over 13.5 stone (constantly on a diet) and am a short arse at 5 foot 2 and a half
I am about a size 18 to 20 depending on what brand of clothes I buy, 5ft 8 and weighing in around 16st at the moment but a recent yard move has meant more riding and can't wait till summer
I have two pairs of jods. The black pair are lycra/nylon type and more flattering than the cotton beige pair. I ride out in either.
If my arse or legs look big then so be it as it matches my horse lol.
Don't get a complex over it and wear whatever you feel comfortable in to be honest, and that means comfort as in wear not in your 'head' btw.
There are more and more larger ladies riding today. But what gets me is why there can be such a song and dance about it. I mean look how many large male riders do you see on the back of a cob or out hunting and no-one bats an eyelid?
But when it is woman it can result in people thinking 'just look at the size if her' or 'that poor horse etc'
It really p's me off to be honest. Horses and ponies are much stronger than we give them credit for and if my lad can tank off with me on top then it can't be bothering him too much now can it or else he would stop or else chuck me off and he has done neither.
I second what has been said about buying jods though in bigger sizes. My black pair I had made for me a few years back before I got online and also tack shops really stock mostly skinny sizes ( well the ones near me do). The beige pair I got from ebay but are made from Cotton Traders and are actually blokes. But I have lost weight since getting them and they are getting baggy so I will have to search out some more.
I have heard of the Fuller Fillies company and they are pretty good from what people have said.
Caz, this was me yesterday in the unflattering beige jodphurs
