It's my friend's birthday tomorrow and she has just started showing her Anglo Arab under saddle. I thought I would buy her a showing box, as I know she does not have one (for taking out into the ring during the unsaddling phase), but someone told me that in Arab shows the groom usually has the equipment in a wicker basket. I don't want to embarrass her by getting the wrong thing, so does anyone know what is normal for AHS shows?

Thanks!

You can take whatever you like in, but as you say, most people use a wicker basket. (The shopping basket type, like old ladies have! I stole my grans!!! )

Ebay!!!!!!!

The other ones that are fairly popular seem to be the ones that double up as a mounting block for getting back on!

The wicker baskets look very smart though.

Just to be clear (shows how much attention I have ever paid at all the shows I have been to) - is the basket an open type or is it the floppy sort that has two handles? I can see this has much potential for getting the wrong one, but I suppose I can always swear blind that I meant it to be a shopping basket for when she hits her dotage!

the open, solid type, with one handle in the middle, so you can loop it over your arm.
approx 12-16 inches long x 8-12 inches wide x 5-8 inches deep.

Hopefully that makes sense
