Any arab owners/enthusiasts out there???

I have three purebreds (2 of them are the greys in my signature).

1 is 10 yo Straight Egyptian gelding (open level endurance horse)
2 is 10 yo Crabbet/English gelding (advanced level endurance horse)
3 is 30 yo Crabbet/English mare - mother of 2 above - (completely retired broodmare).

It's such a privilege to own, ride and love an Arabian horse.

I have a chestnut IDxAnglo Arab does that count? Incidentally has anyone else ever seen an IDxAnglo Arab he's only 4 so wondering what he will end up like :-)

I have a 3 year old anglo arab bred by Biddesden Stud by their crabbet arab stallion Sisyrinchium. This is him last year as a 2 year old...

^ beautiful. I gained a new appreciation & understanding of Arabs after reading this story of the Adsheads who rode their Arabs from Wales to the Red Sea in Jordan. Do you know it? It's an amazing read, I was hooked from the start.

Thanks for that link, i have just spent 3 days reading it. It is an amazing story, but they did push their luck for a long time before it caught up with them :( such a shame. Glad i read it though :)

I recently lost my beloved 3/4 bred mare Kim, aged 26. I am looking to get a purebred at the end of this summer. I want an english/crabbet bred mare. Arabs have it all, intelligence, good looks, stamina, loads of ability and a loyalty that cannot compare.
I would love to know what the other quarter of my mare's breeding was, all I know is that her dams mother was a palomino by the name of Summerhayes Delight, and was without doubt welsh, but I don't seem to be able to find out any breeding there.

Interesting to note that my shetland pony is a also a Summerhayes pony, although not sure if it's the same stud. Would love to know.

I've got two purebreds and a part bred:

Harry, my 25yo, who is a jack of all trades:

Me me!! My lovely Lou was 18 in Feb. I'll have owned her for 10 years this November. She was an early Christmas pressie from my parents when I was 11. She's awesome :D:D:D

I think Lisa is a HHO member ;) Used to be at any rate.

Don't get me wrong i cried like mad after reading for about 6 hours and reaching that awful part. But there are things a horse needs and at times like that you can't guarantee it. Plus making a lame horse walk over 250 miles even without you on it's back i feel is a little unfair to say the least. But, an incredible story as i said, and a great read. And a sad outcome.
