If there is can any of you let me know more about their general characters,i know they are all different from each other but is there anything to watch out for,Health Wise, quirks etc?
Am viewing one soon and it would be my first warmblood. Are they the sort you could do stuff on your own with a lot of the time without company? i.e) hacking, competing and travelling.

I have a Belgian warmblood, and i have had a couple in for schooling. They are genrally mostly bred along jumping lines. They are also a little heavier in build than say the dutch warmblood.I have not found them to be 'tall' whereas many of the German horses i have sre 'tall', 17hh + I have also found them to be quite sensative or another term could be sharp but this is not neccessarily a bad thing. My lad is not the most beautiful horse in the world but he is a pleasure to work he is responsive and athletic . Good luck in your search remember warmbloods are a 'type' so look around through the other stud books Dutch ,Danish and many German wb's one of my favourites being the oldenburg.

i have a gorgeous enormous beligian warmblood mare. sweetest and most forgiving horse i have ever met she's 17.1 and i'm 5ft4 and have no prob with the size. very easy to do in general, she sometimes has little hissy fits but sure i suppose they all do. pm me if you want any info on her specific bloodlines!!

Yes, i have a young Belgian mare - as Partoow says tend to be heavier than Dutch (mine has alot of Holsteiner blood) - she is calm, adaptable but can be nappy if fit takes her but then i am learning this could be the female rahter than the Belgian bit! Honest horse - think although each breed may have its own charateristics, each horse is an individual and you will know the right one when you come across him or her.
Good luck!

- have reread yr post - i hack mine out by herself or with others - she is not bothered either way nad is ok on her own in the field too. PM me too if you require any info on bloodlnes - you could try www.allbreedpedigree.com too to look up any specific pedigree.
ps touch wood - she is very healthy-touch wood

Thanx guys for your help with that. The mare i'm going to see is a grey 16hh quite light looks more TB than warmblood but i'm no expert! She is very pretty. Her bloodlines are (Sire) Lord Calando and Carthago, are these any decent? She has a great jump and is jumping 1m out at the mo,she's at a SJ comp yard and they are selling her as she prob won't have the scope to jump much more than 1.10 Affiliated which is fine for me as all i'm doing is RC teams, and would be happy going clear round a 1.10 course! Any info on her sire etc would be great.

Mare i know of is bordering 18hh, can be strong-ish when she gets going she is lovely good looks, as someone said, heavy-ish build, but lovely legs, good strong jump, loves all jumping activites but she doesn't enjoy dressage as much - picky mare lol hacks away by herself or in company but tends to dominate the other horses lol!

i had one who was beautiful and had a fantastic jump, but terrible temperament. really killed my confidence as was dangerous rearing etc, think he may have been beaten in the past though.
sometimes their feet are a bit poor (small and contracted)
