Yes!! Mine is absolutely full of it. Think my fittening plan accidentally coincided with spring grass / weather change! he was spooking so much yesterday I thought I was gonna get whiplash. It’s all great timing with our first show next weekend😂

Yes!!

The bucking due to excitement thread the other day got me thinking… he hasn’t bucked in about 3 years… (the last time being when the teens were playing games and racing and really whizzing them up and he let out a squeal then fly bucked 😳😂).

He is pretty horizontal and I think has only bucked about 3 times in almost ten years (why would you waste energy on antics that could be spent eating?).

Well that line of thought came to bite me in the bum this weekend!

He bucked on the lunge yesterday and was all for charging about at twice his usual energy level (he did settle after a few transitions up and down).

Then today we went out hacking and it was like someone had slipped him the red bull! No more bucking or any naughtiness in his defence, but just full of beans and wanting to yeehaaa everywhere (which was secretly rather fun and made me feel about 14 again!).

Several of the horses at my riding school have definitely been on the Red Bull! I had a lesson on one of the ploddier ones the other day and, when cantering, we took off at warp speed round the school, then threw a few small shapes and we went backwards, sideways and spun a few times! Instructor was quite impressed I stayed on!
