Anyone got experience of what 2.5 year old connies should look like? I can't work out whether mine is overweight or just a very chunky build. She's a part bred with tb/warmblood breeding too, so I was expecting her to be a lighter build and mabe that's what I struggling with. I'd like to DM some photos to someone with experience of young connies if poss please.

Not a breeder but very experienced with young connie's. Some of them are surprisingly chunky. Don't forget some warmbloods can be chunky too.You would check the weight by if you can feel the ribs and if there in a gutter on the bum - no young horse should be allowed to get overweight. Check for 'chunkiness' by looking at the width between the front legs and the amount of bone.
I'm happy to look at photos.

Thanks for your DM. I have tried to reply to it twice now but I get a message saying there is a temporary problem with the system. So putting my reply here.

Thanks for the photo. I've cut down her feed to a mugful and am soaking her hay so hopefully will see some difference soon! It would be good to send her to a youngstock livery with less rich grazing but round here (south) land prices are so high so there isn't any. My grazing is ex-dairy and is quite rich. Suits the other two, but not her unfortunately. Thanks very much for your input.

Yours is lovely! How big did he make? Yours looks like he has a wide barrel too? Mine's on a diet now and hopefully will look less like a highland cow soon!
He's 16'1 tall and 16'1 wide! I have to put him in ruggles rugs as he's huge! I mean he is fat, but he is fed the least out of both of my horses but he keeps weight on very easily, a bit like me! he's 15 now and only hacks 2x a week now as we're not on a yard with any facilities and he's had lots of pain issues over his years, so he doesn't enjoying schooling!

this is him now
