Any cob showing people out there...??

I am buying a maxi cob tomorrow and having not done any showing in my life before, I was wondering, do Maxi Cobs have to be hogged for the show ring or can they be plaited up...??

I think she would be ok in WH but not in a Show Hunter class as she is more cobby that classy lol

It's preferable to show maxi cobs hogged but you don't have to, especially if you are going to do hunter classes as well. I have the same dilemma myself and am going to keep him unhogged in his first season till we see what comments we get and whether we are going fully maxi cob or fully hunter

For Affiliated classes, the BSHA rule book now states Maxi Cobs are to be shown hogged.

I am toying with the idea of keeping her mane, well until we have at least been out to a couple of shows and to see what the judges view of her is... and if she is just going to do WH then at least I wont have to hog and she jumps like stink, so really looking forward to it....

But I would like to have a little go at showing, I quite like all of the faff of pamperin them getting them ready for the show. I've been going with a friend as her groom for the last 12 months doing SH classes and she has just qualified for the RIHS and I've got the bug now
